5 Orchard Central Food Places You Can Try
Milagro Spanish Restaurant
Tel: 6238 6248
Started since April this year,Milagro Spanish Restaurant is opened by Raymond,a 27-year-old Singaporean who fell in love with Spanish food after he did an exchange in Denmark. He didn't know how to vwin德赢投注cook initially but picked up a few tips from his Spanish friend during the exchange and took up a few cooking classes. After completing his studies, this business graduate decided to set up a Spanish restaurant in Orchard Central.
Helming the kitchen is a chef who used to be vwin德赢投注cooking in Rise Buffet Restaurant at Marina Bay Sands. To be honest,I wasn't expecting much upon entering the restaurant but was pleasantly surprised by the variety of Spanish food such as a hearty stew from Basque Country, paella from Valencia, homemade desserts from Catalonia,or a glass of wine from one of the most celebrated vineyards in La Rioja.
This brand new indie restaurant is casual, unpretentious and delivers some classic tapas dishes at an affordable price.Raymond believes that tapas should not be expensive and he tries to keep his price low so as to let more people have the chance to try Spanish food.
We had a few classic tapas such as Prawns al Ajillo ($14),Champignon mushrooms al ajillo ($9),Padron peppers ($11),Mussels ‘tigres' ($8/3 pcs),Croquette de Gambaa ($7).My favourite is the Mussels ‘tigres' where mussels are finely chopped and mixed with onion, pepper to form a delicious filling.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that they are selling paella at $12 for lunch.I will definitely be back to try more dishes. The restaurant is also selling a variety of beers from $6 per bottle. You will be able to find Estrella Damm here, one of the best-selling beers in Barcelona. What's a plus point while dining here?Enjoying the beautiful cityscape of Orchard Road!
Maccha House hails from Kyoto,Japan and serves an array of maccha desserts & drinks.Their Western-style influenced desserts and drinks carry the uniquely authentic Japanese flavour, and it is definitely the place to go if you want to spend a quiet afternoon catching up with friends over tea right in the heart of Orchard Road.
Making maccha green tea ($3.90) the traditional way is fun and easy.A small amount of maccha is placed into the bowl, and the hot water is added. The mixture is then whisked to a uniform consistency, using a bamboo whisk known as a chasen. There must be no lumps left in the liquid.Because maccha can be bitter, mochi is served.
Ok I know bitter tea is not well-liked by everyone. If you prefer something sweet,I would recommend the Maccha chocolate parfait ($10.90),an adequate serving of maccha ice cream with chocolate sauce, cornflake, white jelly green tea syrup, whipped cream and azuki beans. The addition of cereals gave it a nice crunch.
One happy note, there is no service charge at Maccha House.

I was squealing with joy when I saw that Krounuts are in the house!Made popular by Ansel Dominique Bakery from New York, this delicious doughnut shaped pastry has a beautiful croissant layers inside and flavoured filling. It tastes a lot like a classic glazed doughnuts but the layers peel apart like those in a mille crepe cake.Mondo's filled flavour krounut ($4.50) comes in different flavous: nutella, lemon, banana, blueberry, milkchoco, pineapple, blueberry, strawberry and custard.

With its retro 70's style decor of pop stars and celebrities posters, memorabilia and Canto-pop songs and oldies,I get the complete Hong Kong ambience at Central Hong Kong Café,accompanied by my favourite Hong Kong food of course!
Led by Hong Kong master chef Chiu Ka Wai,who has been the master chef at Regent Hotel Summer Palace for more than 20 years, and together with his team of Hong Kong chefs and colleagues, they are convicted and committed in giving only the authentic Hong Kong flavour and taste, just like what one will find in Hong Kong.
Here, you can find most if not all legendary Hong Kong staples and street food such as Hong Kong style rice rolls ($4) that is pan fried with sesame and sweet sauce,Deep fried big intestines ($7.50),Braised beef brisket noodles ($6 soup,$6.90 dry),all popular rice plates of Hong Kong, all popular breads and toasts of Hong Kong, stocking milk tea, ginger coca cola and many more.
The Hong Kong rickshaw noodles ($4.50) is served with stewed chicken wings, stewed egg, curry fishball, pig skin, crab stick, radish, sausage.Noodles used are specially important from Hong Kong, which is more elastic and springy. The soup base consists of chicken, pork bones and yunan ham, which gives a mildly sweet aftertaste.
We are done with bubble tea,we are done with donuts,CHURROS is the latest sweet trend with so many churros kiosks opening in town!As Melbourne's first producers of the Churro, the young brothers fell in love with it and decided to bring the franchise to Singapore. In Melbourne, they have a few kiosks in Elizabeth Street and Flinders Street. But this is the first café concept for Spanish Doughnuts.
Their fluted sticks are only fried upon order, hence you probably need to wait 10 mins for your fresh churros to be ready.Made from wholesome natural ingredients and 100% vegetable oil, their churros are lighter and fluffier than normal doughnuts, and served fresh with a variety of rich chocolate sauces and melt-in-the-mouth fillings. The joy you get from biting into a warm crunchy churro dipped in chocolate is beyond words. There are also a wide variety of gourmet vwin体育coffee and tea selections to complement their famous Churros.
